Paul

Hi, my name’s Paul, and I’m the very proud owner and founder of The Dog Walker, which began back in 2015. I was turning 30 at the time and working as a police officer with the MET. After serving for 10 years, I decided it was time to take the plunge and pursue something I truly loved — working with dogs. Much to my mum’s and a few friends’ displeasure, they were convinced I was having a midlife crisis!

With three months of savings behind me, I started leaflet-dropping in Bushy Park and chatting to anyone walking a dog, hoping they’d trust me to walk theirs. After a month of this — plus multiple advertising campaigns and many evenings spent going door-to-door — the calls finally started coming in. And the rest, as they say, is history. Never give up on your dreams.

I have a Vizsla called Eddie, who’s been with me through the whole journey. He’s my best friend and I’m lucky enough to take him to work with me every day. I run the business alongside my gorgeous wife Jodie, and I’ve recently become a father to our beautiful daughter, Hallie. My spare time is mostly spent with family and friends… usually ending with a dog walk to the local coffee shop (sad but true). I’m an early riser and in the gym by 6am most days. My favourite cheat meal? Fillet steak and mac and cheese — with a little saved for Eddie, obviously!

We’re a family-run setup here, and over the years The Dog Walker has grown organically. I’ve always found it difficult to recruit people I don’t know — it’s such a trust-based industry. Knowing your pups are cared for by my family and close friends gives me, and hopefully you, the confidence that they’re receiving the best possible care. Many of our clients have become some of our closest friends as the years have gone on. It’s your dog’s journey we go on together, and once we start working with you, we’re here for your dog’s needs for their entire life. At least, that’s how we look at it.

If you make an enquiry today, I’ll give you a call as quickly as I can. From there, you can decide whether you’d like to arrange a meet and greet, where we’ll pop round to say hello and meet your pup.

Thanks for taking the time to read. I look forward to hearing from you.

Jodie

Hi, I’m Jodie! I’ve been part of The Dog Walker since 2017, and it’s safe to say I’ve loved every minute of it — the dogs are definitely the best part. I’ve grown up with dogs for as long as I can remember, and that love has only grown with me. I’m now the proud owner of three of my own: a Vizsla and two Chihuahuas. Yes, they’re complete opposites, but somehow it just works!

Before joining The Dog Walker, I spent three years in the police on a fast-paced response team. I always admired the officers who worked with the dogs, and whenever I helped Paul in the early days of the business, I found myself not wanting to leave. It felt like where I truly belonged. Paul and I actually met while working in the police — we bonded over our shared love of dogs. He was never going to be “the one” unless he loved dogs as much as I did… so he went one better and opened a dog walking business!

Since then, I’ve learned so much from working with these incredible animals. They’ve given me a wealth of knowledge, and I’ve even completed several IMDT dog-training courses to deepen my understanding. I don’t think I’ll ever stop learning about these fascinating companions we’re lucky enough to call family.

Over time, our team has grown into what it is today — ten amazing people who I’m proud to call not just colleagues, but friends and family. And speaking of family, Paul and I now have a beautiful little girl, Hallie, who is 1½ and absolutely adores the dogs too. This really is a full-fledged family business for the long haul.

I hope I get the chance to meet you and your pup soon if you decide to join us at The Dog Walker. 😃🐾

Megan

Hello, I’m Megan! 👋

I grew up in Claygate before moving to Brighton for 4 years to study Drama, Theatre and Performance at Sussex Uni. After uni I returned back home to write my dissertation whilst working in a coffee shop, that’s when I met Paul! I then joined The Dog Walker in 2021 and I haven’t looked back since!

My favourite dog breed is the working cocker spaniel, biased I know, as I have a 6 year old one called Bonnie. Breeds that have surprised me in the best way are Whippets, Shitzus and Dogue de Bordeaux’s! And two of the best named dogs that I walk are Porridge and Nacho. 😍

When I’m not working I enjoy painting, yoga, jogging and catching up with friends and family! I’ve been lucky enough to travel to some truly incredible places, including India and Cambodia, enjoying the stunning food and scenery! Though more recently, I find myself travelling to work from Woking, which is where I’ve just bought my first little house. 🏡

Like the rest of us I’m totally dog obsessed and I think dogs are so brilliant for us humans, both physically and mentally. I love that no matter what is going on in my life, seeing my dogs happy faces first thing in the morning always makes my day! Arguably I’ve got the best job in the world! 😍

Fiona

Hello! I’m Fiona. I joined Paul and The Dog Walker team in 2017, after having my own dog walking company in Wandsworth, and I’m so glad I joined!

Before dog walking, I studied and worked in fashion. I did a diploma in Pattern Cutting at London College of Fashion and after doing a few placements, I worked for East Ladieswear and Pineapple Dance Studio’s in their clothing department.

Since getting my dog Scooby, I have become completely Vizsla obsessed.

If I’m not out with the dogs, I’ll generally be at the stables with my horse Henry – a chestnut Irish Sports Horse (making my horse and dog match was intentional 😆)

In my free time, I enjoy competing my horse, running and making clothes.

Darren J

Hi there, I’m Darren. I’ve always loved dogs — their personalities, their energy, and how they can turn any day into a good one!

I started out as a graphic designer, but I realised my heart was in working with dogs. After two years as a groomer, I’m now in my third year as a dog walker, and I couldn’t be happier.

Every dog has their own quirks and character, and no two walks are ever the same. Spending my days with them is the best part of what I do.

Ronelle

Hi, I’m Ronelle. I’m a devoted dog walker with a profound love for our canine companions. Dogs have been a source of endless joy and connection throughout my life.

My passion for dogs is rooted in their loyalty and affection. As a rescue dog owner, I’ve experienced firsthand the transformative power of love and patience. This has deepened my commitment to providing the same care and attention to all dogs I walk.

I understand the unique needs of each dog, and tailor my walks to their preferences. Beyond walks, I’m an advocate for canine well-being and actively support shelters and rescue efforts.

Choosing me as your dog walker means entrusting your furry friend to someone who shares your love for dogs. I’m here to make every walk a joyful, enriching experience for your beloved companion.

Sophie

Hi, I’m Sophie. I’ve grown up with dogs my whole life and have proudly been a lifelong “crazy dog lady.” After seven years of teaching, I decided to swap the classroom for the great outdoors so I could spend my days doing what I love most: caring for dogs. I’m patient, reliable, and happiest when I’m out on a walk with a wagging tail by my side. I’d love to get to know your pup and make their day a little brighter.

Ashley

Hi I’m Ashley. My story of getting into dog walking was pretty unique. During Covid times, I volunteering at an animal rescue centre walking the dogs that required a daily spin. After doing this for a couple of months, I knew I needed to make the change into dog walking and get out of my corporate sales role.
I have known Paul for a long time through a family friend, and decided to give him a shout – and the rest is history!

In my spare time you’ll see you on the athletics track, or watching rugby or NFL.

Darren O (Dazza)

Hi, I’m Dazza! I joined Paul and the Dog Walker family in 2023, I am Paul’s brother-in-law, and this is what I’ve wanted to do for a long time. I finally took the plunge after being a postman for 23 years, and it’s been the best decision of my life! It’s much nicer walking dogs, than being chased out of gardens by them 😂. I love working outdoors, and to combine that with working with dogs is my idea of heaven!

I have two children and a beautiful wife (I have to say that as it’s Paul’s sister 😂) and in my spare time, we enjoy spending quality time together. My eldest daughter is an Elite young athlete in athletics, so we travel the country together chasing her dreams. My youngest wants to follow in her Uncle’s, and now dad’s footsteps to work with dogs too. I also love watching and playing all sports.

Steve

Hi, I’m Steve. After spending 17 years in the police – the last 10 being in the office as a Detective Sergeant – I took the big jump to take up the outdoor life at the begining of 2024. A daunting decision at the time, but one I coulnd’t be happier that I made now.

I have an amazing wife, three children, and a dog called Willow at home, so life is quite busy!
Getting in the fresh air with the pups is most certainly my peaceful place!

In any spare time I do manage to get, you can guarantee that I’ll be either watching or playing some kind of sport.
